Daniel J. Singel

Dan’s practice is devoted entirely to civil litigation, primarily defense and subrogation interests. The majority of Dan’s work is in the areas of construction law, products liability, and personal injury. Dan has successfully defended and prosecuted civil cases through motion practice, alternative dispute resolution, arbitration, and trial.

Notable Cases:

Buscher v. Montag Dev., Inc., 770 N.W.2d 199 (Minn. Ct. App. 2009), review denied (Minn. Oct. 29, 2009). Represented the targeted defendant subcontractor as second-chair attorney in construction defect matter with damages alleged in excess of $3 million. Won summary judgment. The Court of Appeals affirmed the district court and the Supreme Court denied the plaintiff’s petition for review.

Wall Drug Store, Inc. v. Ansul Incorporated (Pennington County, South Dakota District Court, 2008). Represented defendant fire suppression system inspection company as third-chair attorney in fire loss negligence matter with damages alleged in excess of $1 million. Jury found no negligence on client, and court awarded costs.

Louris v. Hunter Fan Company (Hennepin County District Court, 2008). Represented the homeowner and subrogated carrier as first-chair attorney in products liability jury trial. Case resolved mid-trial.

Transcontinental Insurance Company v. Knutson Construction Services (U.S. District Court District of Minnesota, 2007). Represented defendant limestone fabricator as second-chair attorney in declaratory judgment matter. Won partial summary judgment resulting in dismissal of the plaintiff’s claims.

Boegeman v. Juergens Construction, Inc. (Scott County District Court, 2006). Represented the defendant general contractor as second-chair attorney in construction defect jury trial. Won defense verdict.
